I have been pursuing my own theatrical, television, concert, and industrial design projects for the past nineteen years. I developed my foundation of experience by serving as Assistant Designer, Lighting Director and/or Automated Lighting Programmer, collaborating with some of our industry's top designers. Throughout 1991 and 1992 I was employed as Associate Designer by Imero Fiorentino Associates Inc., based in Los Angeles and New York City. During and since that time, I have contributed my dedication and artistry to many projects, including six Emmy award nominated, one Tony award nominated, and one Academy award winning lighting designs.
I have contracted my services to PRG Lighting (formerly VLPS, formerly Vari-Lite, Inc.) on a per project basis continuously since 1988, currently holding Senior Lighting Director/Programmer status. In 1996 I was invited to participate in the original specification and development of the Virtuoso lighting programming system, and am still active in testing and software advancement today.
I have made a personal contribution to the craft by lecturing at various local universities on designing with automated lighting, and have volunteered my time when possible with not-for-profit regional theatre companies in Los Angeles and New York City.
I studied Theatrical Scenic and Lighting Design at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona Department of Theatre Arts under Department Chair/Designer William H. Morse III and Professor/Designer Kathleen Waln. One of the most valuable experiences of my design education was presenting my work at the 1990 American College Theatre Festival regional design adjudication, where my design for the musical "Cabaret" was included among the region's finalists.
Below you will find a selection of designs and projects I have been involved in throughout the recent past. For more specific information please contact me directly at my electronic mail address. Please read on or go back to the previous page.
